As a Distribution House Maintenance Technician, you will be performing routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and related material handling equipment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Lead/and or Supervisor, the technician will strive to fulfill the Maintenance Department objectives and goals by completing daily tasks which ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
Job Description:
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment and reports any unsafe working conditions or equipment.
- Proficient in the repair and maintenance of all types of conveyors. Including replacement of motors, reducers, scanners, sensors and all other components used in the assigned area.
- Ability to trouble-shoot electrical controls (motor circuits, process or packaging machinery, and programmable controllers) using drawings, documentation, and required tools.
- Determines parts requirements and availability. Retrieves parts, maintains parts/stock area and submits requests to reorder. Determines reasonable substitutions for parts that are unavailable.
- Performs routine maintenance of systems based on machine preventative maintenance (PM) requirements. Maintain accurate record of all PM activities.
- Some understanding of PLC’s, Building Management Systems, CMMS, and Vision Systems.
- Ensures that all safety systems are functioning properly on all machines.
Qualifications:
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- 2 – 3 years’ experience or equivalent vocational training
- Excellent proven safety record
- Ability to interpret schematics, mechanical blueprints, and PLC ladder logic.
- Able to operate or be trained on all MEWP, PIT and Utility Carts.
Computer Skills:
o PC experience; MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
o Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Working
knowledge of Maintenance Connection is a plus.
o Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
o Knowledge of Warehouse Control Systems (WCS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; 6 months warehouse experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems; warehouse control systems, Excel, running reports and interpreting and communicating data/metrics.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; ability to follow detailed instructions both written and verbally; ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures; ability to apply concepts of basic math. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Schedule/Pay Rate:
Day Shift - 6:00am-4:30pm
Night Shift - 5:00pm-3:30am
Weekend Shift - 6:00am-6:30pm
$22.50 - $23.50/hr.
