Position Overview:

Yard is seeking a talented Line/Prep Cook to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work in multiple settings, including our farmers market stall, food truck, and restaurant hub. The ideal candidate is passionate about culinary excellence, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to contribute to the diverse culinary offerings that define our brand. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you'll be part of a dynamic team crafting farm-to-table delights and street food favorites with a hip twist. Job Responsibilities:

Understanding of cooking skills, knife handling, and safety.

Ability to take direction from the Sous Chefs and Executive Chef.

Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the staff.

Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.

Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.

Set up stocking stations with all necessary supplies.

Ability to work with speed and efficiency.

Fortitude to work in a fast-paced environment.

Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.

Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.

Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.

Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.

Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.

Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.

Qualifications/Skills:

Basic written and verbal communication skills

Organizational skills

Accuracy and speed in executing tasks

Ability to work as a team member

Follows directions and instructions

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or GED

One to two years of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook

Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred

Experience with various cooking methods and procedures

Familiar with industry best practices

Start Date: May 14, 2024

Hours: Flexible depending on shift

Hourly Rate: $15.00 per hour
