Resp & QualificationsPURPOSE:This is a Summer 2025 internship, with the option to extend the internship part-time during the academic year if mutually agreeable to the intern and team. The ideal candidate is someone who can commit to working during the Summer full-time (40 hours per week). This position is fully remote, with some opportunities to meet with team members in person. This is a great opportunity for the interested candidate to learn more about healthcare transformation and provider contracting as it relates to cost and quality.The Payment Transformation team designs Value-Based Programs (VBPs) for health systems, primary care providers, and specialists to incentivize the value of care provided to members over the volume of care provided. Reporting to the Payment Transformation Manager, this position will assist with the organization, administration, and tracking of CareFirsts value-based contracts with its provider partners. Depending on the background and interests of the individual, responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Create an organized system for storing agreements, deliverables, and other documentation for each VBP partner
Develop a database of active contract terms, highlighting notable differences compared to standardized contract templates
Identify opportunities for contract standardization
QUALIFICATIONS:Education Level: This position requires an individual working towards a Bachelor's or Graduate degree from an accredited College or University with a graduation date after Summer 2025: Rising Junior or Senior Undergraduate, or Graduate student, preferably targeting a major in Healthcare Administration, Health Services Coordination, Public Health, Population Health Management, Pre-law, Paralegal Studies, Business/Office Management or related studies with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Willingness and ability to learn the ins-and-outs of Value-Based Programs, Government Programs (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid) and Contracting from a payer perspective).
Strong MS Office skills especially working with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams.
Preferred, but not required:
Experience working with and related to contract language, provider reimbursement methodologies, and project management.
Knowledge of different types of value-based and/or population health programs (i.e. Triple Aim/Quadruple Aim etc.).
