The Danaher Materials System (DMS) Buyer / Planner is responsible for driving OTD, Inventory, and responsiveness to the Customer through disciplined application of DMS and DBS tools and processes.
Position is responsible for continuous improvement in and management of customer orders, finished good stock, production planning, raw material inventory, Kanban / MRP systems, and tactical purchasing responsibilities for designated value stream(s) with a goal of driving incremental and step-function improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity.
Work with business unit and functional leaders to develop and execute tactical plans including, but is not limited to :
Employ DBS processes to continuously improve all aspects of role and responsibilities
Drive SAP (ERP System) accuracy in Production Planning, Inventory, and related master data
Satisfy Customer Service needs related to order status, expedites, commercial priorities, and other items
Utilize standard work to ensure daily responsibilities are completed according to priority
Actively participate and lead assigned SQDIP and other Daily Management activities
Track, analyze, lead, document, and report on open customer orders, past-due lines, past-due dollars, AOS stock status, Customer Expedite status and performance at Daily Management and as needed
Act as PSI and daily Materials Lead for specified value streams providing current status, order-book information, and adjusting DMS elements such as Kanban and others
Lead and facilitate updates to daily management elements including Kerr charts, stock-out sheets, critical orders, and production plans
Implement, audit, problem solve, correct, resize, and continuously improve Value Stream and Site-wide Kanban systems
Perform ongoing IMAG analysis for all designated parts at established frequency and drive reductions in Supplier Leadtime, On-hand Inventory, MOQs, and other factors
Initiate SPIKE Kanban orders and MRP requisitions for purchased goods as needed to support OTD targets
Schedule production for assigned value streams as defined in standard work
Print and Deliver Production Order travelers’ to the shopfloor according to design
Other responsibilities assigned by Manager
Provide expertise to teams including :
PSI) Production, Sales, and Inventory team
Apply continuous improvement methods such as Dynamic Kanban, PSP problem solving, set up wheel, Heijunka, TPI, etc.
DMS principles of collaboration, methodology, innovation and customer focus
Subject matter expertise in DMS elements such as Dynamic Kanban, IMAG, Heijunka, PSI
Lead transformational change and work on identifying the greatest DMS opportunities across the plant
Identify and share best practices
Educate, communicate and excite the organization on DMS :
Generate interest for DMS across Timonium site
Develop and promote common DMS Language across Timonium by integrating continuous improvements utilized across Pall and Danaher
Bachelor of Science Degree in Science or Engineering related disciplines.
3+ years of business / operations, materials management or manufacturing experience
Technical Skills and understanding of continuous improvement tools and methodologies
Experience with deploying DMS or equivalent based methods in operations
Extensive SAP and Microsoft Excel experience (preferred)
