Experienced Economics Tutor Needed for Ivy-Bound Senior
Position: Tutor for Advanced Placement Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics
Student: High-achieving senior at a competitive high school
Location: Gambrills, MD
Modality: In person
Schedule: 2–4 hours weekly, flexible timing. Weekends preferred.
About the Student:
Motivated senior preparing for a semester of AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics courses and AP exam. The student has a strong mathematics foundation through study of calculus; needs support with the social and policy concepts of economics and data visualization analysis.
Tutor’s Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or related field
Preference for a completed Bachelor’s and further, but will consider degrees in progress
Minimum 2+ years experience in Economics instruction
Preference for experience in college tutoring
Ability to explain complex concepts with great clarity
Ease in relating macroeconomics/microeconomics to real-world applications
Patient, encouraging approach with excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
Assess current knowledge and identify areas for improvement
Create personalized learning plan that targets weak points and supports strengths
Review and reinforce classroom material
Provide additional challenging problems for advanced work
Prepare student for AP exam with practice tests and feedback
Compensation:
