Bookkeeper

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in York, Maine. The selected candidate will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including account reconciliation, bookkeeping, and data entry. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial department.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable and accounts receivable. Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported. Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts. Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions. Work closely with the team to ensure accurate and timely data entry in Sage accounting software. Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for internal use. Monitor customer accounts for irregularities or discrepancies. Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) Expertise in Bank Reconciliations Previous experience in Bookkeeping Proficient in Data Entry Strong skills in Microsoft Excel Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills Strong attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of organizational skills Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Strong work ethic and positive team attitude Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
