IT Specialist (Second Shift)

The IT Specialist will work with internal business partners to triage requests sent to Hosting. An IT Specialist will support team-members by performing infrastructure monitoring, initial client response, and outage response. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using industry standard enterprise tools such as Windows Server, VMWare, Shavlik, Actifio, Sophos, Solarwinds, Microsoft CRM, Azure and AWS. They should be comfortable providing phone support and system administration support to Hosting's clients by providing eyes on glass, triaging service catalogue requests, assisting analysts with creating change control requests and resolving basic troubleshooting issues.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor application and database systems and infrastructure for performance and up-time
  • Triage Hosting CRM cases and resolve or assign to IT Analysts
  • Assist IT Analysts in closing open support cases and documenting for knowledge base
  • Assist in creating change control requests
  • Maintain a written general knowledgebase of all issues and their resolutions
  • Support Tyler product integration within the Hosted environment
  • Provide technical support for internal support departments and hosted clients as assigned
  • Research options for new or improved technology
  • Respond to basic client IT issues; password resets, account creation, FTP site creation
  • Assist management in gathering information for reporting and audit

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with a wide range of clients, both internal and external, from technical to non-technical and from management to clerical.
  • Adapt to changing products, technologies and environments in support of client needs.
  • Work in a networked environment with an understanding of network principles and configuration including LAN, WAN and VPN.
  • Assess the complexity of an issue and escalate more critical issues.
  • Ensure the satisfactory resolution of issues through effective problem-solving.
  • Provide seamless integration to department and company resources from a client perspective.
  • Associate's degree in computer science or equivalent experience/certification
  • Basic knowledge of server hardware and network configurations
  • Basic knowledge of Networking (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, Firewalls, OSI Model)
  • Typically requires 1-2 years' experience with multiple operating systems, Active Directory, VMWare, and SQL databases
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast paced, technical environment
  • Excellent client service, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with any of the following products a plus:
    • Windows Server
    • Active Directory
    • Virtual environments and clustering technologies
    • DNS, networking, firewalls
    • Microsoft Office core products
    • Public Cloud experience (AWS and Azure)
