Wagon Masters now under new ownership of PAF Transportation is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of trailers, vehicles and equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment.
```Duties```
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy trailers and equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs
- Operate heavy equipment as needed for repairs or maintenance
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required
- Service hydraulic systems, shocks, struts, and brakes
- Assemble new equipment or machinery according to specifications
```Requirements```
- Prior experience as a Mechanic or similar role or the desire to learn
- Knowledge of air brake systems and suspension systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- The ability to diagnose DC - electrical systems
- Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus
- Ability to perform welding and fabrication tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- The ability to lift 80 - 100 pounds
- The ability to work on concrete floors in a shop setting
