Job Title: Deckhand – Truck & Heavy Equipment Ferries

Location: Casco Bay, Maine

Job Type: Full-Time & Part-Time Available

Salary: $20-$30 based on experience and skills

Schedule: Rotating schedule with start and end times changing daily based on the tides, mostly during daylight hours

Job Overview:

We are looking for reliable and hardworking Deckhands to join our crew aboard our truck and heavy equipment ferries operating in the beautiful Casco Bay. We have both full-time and part-time positions available!

No prior maritime or deckhand experience is required—we will provide training for the right candidate!

This is not your typical job—spend your summer working outdoors on the water, enjoying the fresh sea air and stunning coastal views of Casco Bay. If you love working with your hands, being part of a team, and want a job where every day is different, this is the perfect opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

Secure trucks, heavy equipment, and other cargo safely on the deck.

Maintain a sharp lookout while underway to identify hazards in the water.

Drive and back up trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment safely onto the vessel.

Perform routine vessel maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs.

Conduct safety checks and assist in emergency drills.

Provide assistance to vehicle operators and passengers as needed.

Follow all safety regulations and operational procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

No prior maritime or deckhand experience needed—we will train you!

Must have experience driving and backing up trailers.

Manual transmission skills and a Class A or Class B CDL is strongly encouraged.

A clean driving record is mandatory.

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and occasionally lift heavy objects.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Comfortable working in all weather conditions.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment federal drug test and comply with random drug testing requirements.

Willingness to work a rotating schedule with start and end times that change daily based on the tides, mostly during daylight hours.

Bonus skills: Experience in truck driving, landscaping, forklift operation, painting, welding, or fabrication is a plus.
