We are pleased to announce the opening of the newest chair rental hair and tattoo studio in Portland, Maine…… Slate Studio! It is located in a high traffic area on a prime bit of real estate: 49 Dartmouth Street, next to Bow Street Beverage on Forest Ave. Among the many amenities both you and your clients will enjoy are bright natural light from the vast windows, unlimited off-street parking, proximity to most of Portland without being in the cramped Old Port and very easy access from 295.
Slate will be bringing in both cosmetologists and barbers, creating an open and inviting atmosphere for all humans to enjoy. Our décor is industrial, edgy and bold, our vibe is friendly and cool, our color pallet is grey, cream and warm wood tones from reclaimed barn board. Rental will include the use of your own brand new styling station, a fresh off the factory floor chair for your clients (both barber and cos chairs available), a roomy and well appointed stylist lounge, use of company provided towels and laundry room and did we mention the pool table? You will be able to select your own product line and do things your way. We believe in a for real booth rental model. Meaning you do you; at your own pace, whenever you want, however you want with your own tools/color line etc. You'll have a key to the place and will fully be your own boss. Be professional and keep your space neat and clean and we'll take care of the rest!
Our first location, Apotheosis, is on Forest Ave and opened in January of 2017 and the joys and success of endeavor encouraged us to do it again! We are keenly interested in providing Mainers with a great place to work and an enjoyable environment. Weekly booth rental price will be $300. We offer the first two weeks free for you to get your feet under you. We hope this is helpful for folks to get settled and start building clientele in this new location!
