Job Title: Toolmaker/Wire EDM technician
Overview:
Legu Tool and Mold is in search of a skilled and experienced toolmaker to join our team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the creation of various precision components and fixtures. Key Responsibilities:
- Setup, program and run wire EDM
- Construct new tools according to design specifications and blueprints
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop precision custom components
- Conduct thorough inspections and measurements to identify potential defects and issues
- Operate various tool and mold making equipment such as wire EDM, CNC mills, lathes, vertical milling machines, and surface grinders
- Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of machines and equipment
- Keep detailed records of CNC programs
- Train new employees on proper use of shop equipment
- Adhere to all safety regulations and practices to maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in toolmaking is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in toolmaking, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Proficient in Solidworks and CAMworks software and other computer-aided design tools
- Strong mechanical and technical skills
- Knowledge of various materials and their properties
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
