Part-time Administrative Assistant, Audiology Practice

We have a current opening for one or two part-time administrative assistants.

Daily hours: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm, in person (remote work not available)

The position will be either 2, 3 or 4 days per week – we may hire one person for 4 days per week or two people for 2 or 3 days a week each, depending on candidate skills and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction: Greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and obtain patient information.

Clerical and Administrative Duties: Maintain patient records, check insurance coverage, process insurance claims, and manage office supplies. Produce invoices, collect payments, and send bills as needed. Manage electronic health records.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure audiology equipment is properly maintained.

Hearing Aids: Process new hearing aids and hearing aids in need of repair. Assist the audiologist in clinical activities as required.

Other Duties: Clean and restock test rooms, maintain organization of office areas, provide light housekeeping, and assist with all other tasks needed to support a small medical office.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proficiency in basic computer skills and office software.

Strong communication (including phone use) and interpersonal skills.

Ability to follow HIPAA rules and maintain patient privacy.

Bonus (helpful but not required):

Experience working in a medical office.

Familiarity with medical billing and coding practices.

Experience with Quickbooks.

Experience working with hearing aids.

Physical Requirements:

The position requires the ability to speak clearly and concisely.

The position requires enough manual and physical dexterity to properly and adequately assist patients and use various items of audiology equipment and office equipment as needed.

The position may involve bending, stooping, walking, and prolonged sitting and standing.

The incumbent must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.

Safety Requirements:

We are a very small medical office, and many of our patients are in high-risk health groups. Like most medical offices, our employees are required to meet all vaccination requirements as established by office policy. Employees also may be required to wear personal protective equipment in the event of their own illness and/or according to national or state guidelines.
