The Toku Truck is an indigenous woman-owned food truck that just opened in the Bayside Area. Our focus is cultivating community through filling AND nutritious eats. We are looking for a positive and passionate individual who is eager to contribute to this mission and assist in the truck's daily operation.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Food Truck staff. This role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing exceptional service to customers. We are currently looking for part-time help on Saturdays from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, with the option to take on more hours in the near future. This job pays $!5 an hour plus tips. We also provide a shift meal and a 50% off employee discount.
Duties:
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently
- Assist in food preparation in the kitchen
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely service
- Drive sales through friendly, kind and compassionate customer service
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitize work areas
- Apply knowledge of restaurant and food industry practices
- Handle cash transactions accurately
- Make a variety of drinks and smoothies for customers
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Strong time management skills
- Knowledge of food handling and sanitation guidelines
- Proficiency in basic math for cash handling
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25lb overhead comfortably
