Benny's, a newly opened Italian American restaurant from the owner of Ramona's, is seeking a passionate and friendly Service Manager to join our team in downtown Portland, Maine. This role is crucial in creating a warm, inviting atmosphere and ensuring a delightful and memorable dining experience for our guests. It combines customer service, team leadership, and operational skills to foster a positive environment for everyone.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience:
-Oversee and maintain a consistent, superior food and beverage experience.
-Effectively resolve guest complaints and implement service recovery measures to ensure complete satisfaction.
Staff Leadership & Development:
-Enthusiastically manage front-of-house staff (hosts, servers, bartenders).
-Provide comprehensive training in customer service and ensure adherence to safety procedures and policies.
-Promote high staff morale and effective performance management.
Operations Management:
-Supervise opening and closing procedures for scheduled shifts.
-Maintain open and effective communication between front-of-house and kitchen staff for seamless service.
-Monitor the restaurant's appearance and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
Qualifications:
-Extensive knowledge of food service management with a proven track record of success.
-Ability to remain proactive and positive in high-pressure environments.
-Demonstrates initiative and sound judgment in supporting guests, colleagues, and staff.
-Capable of swift and precise thinking, problem assessment, and providing suitable recommendations.
-Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including effective multitasking and prioritization.
-Strong communication skills, both in collaborating with team members and engaging with customers.
-Proficiency in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, along with foundational knowledge of Google Sheets and Excel.
