Job Responsibilities:
1. Daily preparation of a selection of sweet and savory pastries and desserts to fill our display case.
2. Assist in preparation and plating of made to order offerings for breakfast and lunch service.
3. Ensure all product is prepared to high quality standards and following safe food handling procedures.
4. Decorating product with icings, fillings, glazes, and garnishes to create visually appealing items.
5. Packaging of product.
6. Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen including but not limited to dishwashing, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces and equipment, sweeping and mopping floors, and trash removal.
7. Follow and assist in creating procedures to minimize food waste and improve efficiency of production.
8. Assist with Product/Ingredient stock rotation and inventory.
9. Other duties as assigned.
Required skills and experience:
1. Minimum 2 years experience working in a bakery or commercial kitchen.
2. Experience working with yeasted and quick breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, tarts/pies, meringue, custards and fillings.
3. Nationally accredited Safe Food Handling certification such as Serv Safe or similar.
4. Basic decorating and piping skills.
5. Strong communicator, able to complete tasks efficiently, ability to create and follow a plan.
