We are a dedicated homeschooling community in Maine, focused on providing a nurturing and enriching learning environment for our students. Our co-op is committed to fostering academic excellence, creativity, and personal growth through the Montessori method. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Montessori teacher to join our team and support our 4th to 6th grade students.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a full-time Montessori teacher to guide and inspire our 4th to 6th grade students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Montessori education, a deep understanding of child development, and a commitment to creating a supportive and engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Montessori-based lesson plans and activities for students in 4th to 6th grade.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and independent learning.

Observe and assess students' progress, providing individualized support and guidance as needed.

Collaborate with parents, and other educators to create a cohesive and supportive learning community.

Maintain an organized and stimulating classroom, including the preparation and maintenance of Montessori materials.

Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in Montessori education.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.

Montessori teacher certification (preferred but not required).

3-5 years of elementary teaching experience, with at least some experience in a Montessori school.

Strong understanding of Montessori principles and practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with parents and co-op members.

Commitment to fostering a nurturing and supportive learning environment.
