The Office of Wildlife exists to provide wise stewardship of Louisiana's wildlife and associated habitats and increase wildlife conservation awareness. BIOLOGIST DIRECTOR This position serves as the assistant to the division's biologist administrator and is responsible for administration of the division's land stewardship operations, including budget, the oversight of all personnel actions including performance compliance, hiring, personnel status and disciplinary recommendations, compliance with federal, state and local mandates and policies and procedures. The Wildlife Division, which has the broad mission of stewardship of Louisiana's wildlife resources and wildlife habitat, has an annual operating budget exceeding $21 million and stewardship responsibility for managing in excess of 1.500,000 acres of owned and leased public lands. The position directly supervises five biologist program managers in the Farm Bill, Forestry, Private Lands and WMA/Refuge programs. This position may serve in certain areas of responsibility as the functional administrator in the absence of the biologist division administrator.
