The Technology Shared Service (TSS) Director Cyber Engineering and Delivery reports directly to the GDIT Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and leads a team of cyber engineering professionals responsible for the planning, development and operation of cyber engineering and program support execution.

The individual will provide oversight for day-to-day activities required to deliver secure solutions that support our customer portfolio. The director is also responsible for the delivery and execution of cyber engineering offerings and is accountable for leading a high performing team that fosters a diverse and inclusive culture. In this role, he/she ensures that cyber engineering services are delivered with operational excellence aligned with sound business and operational management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:
  • Leads all aspects of the cyber team including design, engineering, implementation, and operations for the managed security platforms
  • Provides oversight for cyber solution delivery and execution and ensures business alignment
  • Defines cyber security guidelines and implements service monitoring across systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of critical systems and customer data
  • Leads, develops and mentors a team of cyber engineers, analysts and business operators/managers
    • Assess talent and diagnoses gaps
    • Determines cyber engineering workforce and succession planning needs
    • Continuously monitors KPIs and utilization to ensure performance objectives are met
  • Leads TSS homeroom model for cyber engineering team to further align people, process and technology
  • Provides oversight for security initiatives and projects across multiple domains

Business Management:
  • Supports Deputy CISO in assessing and anticipating current and future cyber requirements
  • Collaborates broadly to support internal and customer business development activities
  • Manages Dedicated and Shared Services budget and assists with informed and dynamic investment prioritization decisions
  • Partners with Enterprise IT and Cyber Center of Excellence on strategic initiatives
  • Develops operating, service-level agreements, and service-level objectives
  • Works with Deputy CISO to define:
    • pricing models based on an understanding of benchmark service levels and prices in the industry
    • determine the right cost model and facilitates demand planning and management conversations
  • Defines, tracks, and communicates specific KPIs to improve adoption and guide continuous improvement effort

Skills:
  • An ability to lead with empathy, motivate and manage a high performing team culture
  • An ability to cultivate and build collaborative working relationships across a broad range of GDIT customer/program stakeholders and TSS leadership team
  • Strong business acumen with a well-developed understanding of value proposition and a commitment in delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business
  • Decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to apply risk based management practices
  • An ability to communicate, influence and negotiate across a diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily-understood, authoritative, and actionable manner
  • A working knowledge of the following area: cyber engineering principles, ITIL and IT Service Management, contract management, program/portfolio management, organizational change management, and IT financial management

Experience Required:
  • Over 10 years of experience in cyber security and work IT service delivery management
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, consulting, leading high performing cross functional teams and workforce development
  • Experience with managed and/or leveraged services models

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, business administration, or related discipline
