Description We are in search of a Sr. Staff Accountant to join our team in the healthcare industry, based in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a Sr. Staff Accountant, you will contribute to the maintenance of the general ledger, ensure the accuracy of financial statements, and manage sales tax reporting and filing. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. This is a hybrid role offering 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Responsibilities: Ensure non-patient revenue, employee benefits, and non-salary expenses are accounted for accurately, including the preparation and submission of monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and invoicing for non-patient receivables Prepare and review monthly financial statements for accuracy Assist in the preparation of the special events/contributions budget and other revenue budget, and participate in the review of departmental non-salary expenses Review accounts payable before month-end for accuracy and during close for expense accrual purposes Manage positive pay uploads for all check runs and provide back-up for banking needs using appropriate systems and tools Prepare and post entries for lease and utilities, maintain quarterly future minimum rent expense schedule, and liaise with property management agency for corresponding documents Document financial transactions by entering and securing account information Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions Respond to accounting procedure inquiries by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questionsRequirements Extensive experience in the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industries preferred Proven ability in Account Reconciliation Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Journal Entries Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Familiarity with NetSuite software Experience with Oracle systems Knowledge of Workday software Understanding of Sales Tax regulations and procedures Experience in preparing Sales Tax ReturnsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
