Description ACCOUNTING DIRECTOR:Robert Half Finance & Accounting is searching for an Accounting Director on behalf of a prestigious banking organization in New Orleans!The ideal candidate will have 10 or more years of combined banking and public accounting experience.Assists the Director of Corporate Accounting in establishing appropriate accounting and reporting policies in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, along with quality assurance for SEC and regulatory reporting. Experience in calculating Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL), strongly preferred. Supports leadership teams in establishing appropriate ACL controls, policies, and procedures. Monitors, researches, and assesses the impact of new accounting and regulatory pronouncements on the company and assists in implementation as required.

Establishes and maintains organizational accounting policies.

Provides organization with technical analyses and expertise with regard to GAAP and SEC reporting requirements including research on accounting related impact of new activities.

Provide quality reviews of SEC, regulatory, and loss share claims reporting as requested to ensure compliance with applicable GAAP and SEC requirements, regulatory guidelines, professional standards, and organizational policies.

Oversees the company accounting for credit loss accounting (ACL) process; provides recommendations to executive management for provision and reserve levels as needed.

Collaborates with partners in Credit and other areas of the company to calculate ACL; ensures compliance with regulatory and accounting guidance while maintaining effective internal control processes.

Maintains current knowledge of applicable banking regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies.

Manages accounting-related projects and represents Accounting team in the planning of company-wide projects.

Develops strong relationships with business unit managers throughout the company.

Interfaces with internal and external audit partners.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of associate team, performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws; Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training associates along with planning, delegating, and directing assignments, appraising performance, enforcing policy and procedure, and fostering a culture of encouragement and promotion.Requirements EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & KNOWLEDGE:

Bachelor of Business, Finance, or Accounting Degree, Graduate Degree preferred.

10 years of Public Accounting and Banking experience, strongly preferred.

CPA certification required.

Advanced level of understanding of financial statements, financial analysis, and business strategies.

Advanced understanding of banking industry.

Advanced knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, as well as banking regulations.
