May receive supervision from higher level personnel.SUPERVISION EXERCISED:None.LOCATION OF WORK:Department of Health and Hospitals, Medical Vendor Administration.JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Medicaid Analyst 2 by the presence of close supervision and the absence of independent action.Examples of WorkThe Medicaid Analyst (MA) is a position responsible for acquiring extensive knowledge of Medicaid policy and procedures and using same to make timely and accurate Medicaid eligibility determinations. The MA is responsible for providing eligibility assistance to members and applicants in the manner of their choosing which may be electronic, by mail, by email, in person, or most often by phone. This position requires competency of web-based programs. Work conditions are a combination of sedentary work on a computer and assistance to members by phone in a call-center format. The ideal candidate is an individual who works independently, is detail-oriented, has excellent customer service skills, can perform routine activities, is attentive to deadlines, and is a team player.
