DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Arconic is seeking a Senior Safety Professional to join our Aluminum Extrusion (AEX) business unit in Lafayette, IN.Profile: The primary purpose of this role is to support Lafayette Operations and provide leadership for the implementation of safety processes, programs, and initiatives as well as safety support for the Lafayette Arconic facility. Essential Functions: The Sr. Safety Professional within AEX requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to teamwork. Major duties include but are not limited to:

Ensuring the safety management system progresses to a state of sustainable implementation in a complex production and RandD environment to protect employees and other persons working at the site.

Supporting efforts to sustain compliance by in meeting and exceeding federal, state and local regulatory requirements and Arconic requirements.

Enhancing the work forces understanding of potential safety hazards/risks and impacts.

Providing safety support to the site organization and leadership group.General duties for the EHS Professional include but are not limited to:

Developing and sustaining systems to drive compliance, significant incident and fatality prevention, incident and injury reduction, and injury management.

Coaching and providing mentorship to departmental leadership in the execution of their safety accountabilities.

Providing technical expertise in new equipment/facilities development by actively participating in Project Environmental Safety Health reviews, audits, and internal self-assessments.

Analyzing of data and reports to identify safety issue trends and system gaps necessary to develop corrective / preventive actions.

Assisting with development and implementation of EHS policy and procedures of Arconic and the business unit with focus on prevention and risk reduction.

Taking appropriate action to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, the locations EHS policy and Arconic Standards.

Developing and conducting safety related training sessions.

Participating actively in investigation of safety incidents to assist in identifying root cause and provides recommendations to prevent recurrence.

Providing daily safety floor support for process and personnel to assist in deployment of best practices, identification, and control of hazards.

Supporting implementation of new or changing regulatory and Arconic requirements and initiatives that may impact current production as well as anticipated development projects.

Assisting the management team with identification and investigation of safety issues/incidents and development of root cause solutions to drive continuous improvement of departmental safety performance.

Interfacing with various organizations and groups within and outside of Arconic.

Periodic On-Call requirementsQualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelors degree in safety or related science from an accredited institution.

Certified Safety Professional is a plus.

A minimum of 7 - 10 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment with full engagement with implementing these Critical Safety Programs: Powered Industrial Vehicles, Cranes and Hoist, Fall Prevention, Confined Spaces, Industrial Hygiene, Machine Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Contractor Safety, and Molten Metal.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of industrial foundry technology processes and experience with molten metal safety is a plus

Knowledge of Human Safety Performance Systems

Strong interpersonal skills; able to forge strong, trusting, collaborative relationships

Results driven self-starter

Good communicator with experience delivering safety training topics

Sound coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills

Ability to conceptualize, develop, and effectively implement safety programs, policies, and procedures
