Civil CAD Technician - Lafayette, INWe are actively hiring a Civil CAD Technician to support the Transportation team of a reputable consulting firm in Lafayette, IN! This position is open due to a pending retirement, so this candidate will have the ability to learn from an industry expert the first 6 months on the job. This person will work on a team of 7 people (1 CAD Professionals; 6 Engineers) and primarily focus on Transportation, Roadway, and INDOT projects. There may be times when work lulls, and this person will be asked to support Water Resources projects as-needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with minimal experience to work with a solid, steady Civil Consulting firm and to learn from some of the best Civil professional(s) in the business.Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Project Managers, Civil Designers, and Civil Technicians to create accurate Contract Documents.
Create accurate Construction Drawings according to Client or Regulatory Standards and Procedures, including: Layout, Geometry, Utility, Grading, Profiles, Cross Sections, and Summary Tables.
Use AutoCAD Civil 3D Modules to incorporate and annotate Civil 3D Design Models into Construction Drawings.
Maintain and organize all project drafting-related Documentation including Computerized Data and Files.
Assist with the Printing and Assembly of Construction Drawing Plans Sets.
Create Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and Detour Plans.
Complete assignments on time and within budget.
Perform additional duties as needed, including: QC/QA, Field Investigations, Computations for Cost Estimates/Quantity Takeoffs, or other non-technical duties.
Job Requirements:
Recent Experience utilizing Civil 3D in a Professional Setting
Civil Plan Production (Alignments, Profile Views, Generating Cross Sections, Creating Feature Lines, Surface Models, Corridors)
Understanding and experience in model space vs. paper space
Experience Drafting Civil Transportation Projects (Roadways, Streets, Highways, INDOT)
Preferred - Associates Degree in Drafting, Design, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field
Miscellaneous:
Typical schedule is Monday to Thursday from 7am to 4:30pm EST; and Friday from 7am to 12noon EST (flexibility available).
Candidates will have the ability to work a Hybrid WFH schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days from-home) after first 90 days of employment.

Target pay between $30-38/hour to start, but is negotiable and flexible depending on specific candidate experience.
