Billing Clerk

Description We are looking to bring on board an experienced Billing Clerk based in Nicholasville, Kentucky. This role entails working within the healthcare industry, specifically within the realm of behavioral health. The successful candidate will be primarily involved in managing accounts receivable and payable, handling Medicaid billing, and other accounting functions. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner. Maintain and update customer credit records on a regular basis. Handle the posting of payments and work on denials. Use knowledge of Medicaid billing to handle related tasks efficiently. Work primarily with behavioral health codes, ensuring all relevant codes are correctly applied. Regularly monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Work on the transition from therapy notes to Welligent software. Ensure all tasks are completed within the scheduled working hours of 8:30 to 5:00. Handle any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.Requirements Minimum of one year experience in a similar role Proficiency in performing accounting functions Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) Knowledge of behavioral medicine Experience with Medicaid billing and claim processing Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently and as part of a team High school diploma or equivalent; degree in finance, accounting or related field is a plus Willingness to continue learning and improving in professional knowledge and skills.
