Product Engineer Manpower Engineering and we are seeking a Mechanical Product Engineer for our client in Louisville, KY. Direct/perm hire role. Summary:
- As a Product Engineer, you will be working collaboratively and independently with other designers, engineers, and departments who are responsible for the design, support and manufacturing of Commercial HVAC Products. You will learn how to take a product from concept to customer with a focus on internal systems, performance components, manufacturing efficiency, and engineering data.
- Design systems and components related to the operation and assembly of A/C unit
- Collaborate with suppliers on the design of alternative components
- Initiates the design of new products and improvements to existing products
- Researches and evaluates products, parts, or processes for performance, cost efficiency and reliability
- Analyzes test results and recommends appropriate design changes
- Responsible for developing and maintaining Online product selection software
- Update and maintain ERP system configurators to reflect current, approved engineered parts and assemblies
- Collaborate with the Engineers and Designers in the design of systems and subassemblies ready for manufacturing
- Support Sales and Applications and Tech Support teams in the operation of the unit (Product life cycle)
- Follow good engineering practices and develop practical solutions
- Maintain IOM and catalogs for all products
- Work closely with purchasing department to evaluate RFP's and RFQ's
- Interact with suppliers to resolve issues or create opportunities to improve line efficiencies or cost savings
- Responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 2-7 years of experience in an engineering or technical environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Holistic view of products and their interdependencies
- Strong decision making, organizational and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome unforeseen obstacles
