1st shift Safety Technician

Position Overview:

Masterbrand seeks a Safety Technician to join our vibrant, multicultural, and diverse team. In this role, you will ensure the safe and orderly assembly of cabinets in alignment with our company’s quality standards. You will provide critical support to maintain compliance with industrial safety systems within our Distributive Assembly/Stock operations. Your responsibilities will include coordinating required safety training, maintaining safety records, analyzing new equipment and process changes, assisting with workers’ compensation claims, tracking injuries, recommending safety improvements, and supporting safety orientations for new hires. Shift hours may vary, including coverage of night shifts as needed.Key Responsibilities:Conduct job hazard analyses, system and compliance audits, inspections, Layered Process Audits, ergonomic task analyses, and implement corrective actions as needed.Participate in incident investigations including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and incident closure.Assist in implementing injury reduction initiatives that promote a “Zero Injury Culture.”Participate in Kaizen events, special task forces, and safety projects; identify issues and provide feedback for continuous improvement.Assist in preparing, reviewing with leadership, and implementing the Facility Safety and Environmental Plan annually.Support tracking, reporting, and interpretation of safety performance metrics through the EHS Application International Corporation (AIC) Information Management System.Support analysis of new equipment and verify operator safety compliance.Maintain machine-specific EHS documentation such as lockout procedures, machine guarding, Standard Operating Sheets (SOS), and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).Champion workplace safety by monitoring associates on the production/shop floor, identifying hazards, and effectively communicating risks.Support safety training programs and prepare technical reports.Provide support for plant hourly safety committees and other safety teams.Collect and review departmental Hands On Corrective Action (HOCA) logs.Maintain safety recordkeeping systems, including chemical inventories and hazardous waste shipment logs.Assist in the contractor approval process and coordinate with outside contractors.Administer first aid to employees as needed.
