Description Robert Half is looking for a skilled Senior Corporate Construction Accountant with experience in commercial construction accounting. This candidate will have a vital role within the corporate team in assessing financial status by analyzing and monitoring budgets, overseeing capital assets reconciliations, and executing cost accounting tasks related to construction projects. Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports, and tables.
Oversee capital assets reconciliations, payment requests, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, depreciation schedules, and fixed asset activity.
Streamline corporate budgeting, forecasting and support management with special projects and workflow process improvements.
Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods as compliant under state laws and business policies.
Analyze budgets, preparing annual budget, scheduling expenses, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions when needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate required
4-7 years of previous experience in public accounting
Experience with construction project accounting highly preferred.
Experience with construction software is strongly preferred.
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
Refined written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy, ability to direct and supervise.
