Job Title: Mechanical Field Engineer - 1382464Job DescriptionFacilitate mechanical building system startups and commissioning activities. Provide subject matter expert assistance in the review of product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings and specifications, and contractor-generated RFIs. Extensive knowledge of safety procedures, safe work practices, and OSHA requirements for mechanical installations is essential.Responsibilities

Facilitate mechanical building system startups and commissioning activities.

Review product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings, and specifications.

Provide subject matter expert assistance and review contractor-generated RFIs.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures, safe work practices, and OSHA requirements for mechanical installations.

Work with building construction contractors and equipment vendors to coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover to end users.

Coordinate weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, and manufacturing shops.

Conduct continuous work progress inspections.

Support construction administration activities related to schedule coordination, quality confirmations, weekly coordination meetings, and planned utility outages.

Conduct inspections and observations of mechanical building systems for compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.

Oversee the work of mechanical contractors for adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestone targets, and coordination with other groups.

Prepare field engineering status reports on work progress and schedule to Project Managers.

Provide input and feedback to improve project technical specifications and standards.

Manage time, prioritize project commitments based on established deadlines and project milestones.

Essential Skills

2+ years in construction management with industrial/commercial building experience.

5+ years in the mechanical design field.

Experience in design criteria development for mechanical systems.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project.

Experience with Bluebeam and AutoCAD.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of prevailing building codes and professional industry standards (IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM).

Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.

Work EnvironmentThis position operates on the 1st shift within a manufacturing facility and is fully onsite. Managers are flexible with schedules and work/life balance. Although travel can be a factor for some positions, rotation of weeks can be arranged. The company offers 10 PTO days and 9 paid holidays per calendar year. Any hours worked over 40 are compensated at time and a half, and all travel for contractors is taken care of. This is a long-term open-ended contract with potential full-time opportunitiesPay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
