Key Responsibilities:

Install, repair, and inspect water and wastewater pipelines

Maintain and repair valves, manholes, and fire hydrants

Perform minor electrical and mechanical maintenance

Operate heavy equipment and power tools

Perform confined space entries and safety procedures

Provide site clean-up, traffic control setup, and data entry on completed work

Qualifications:

High school diploma or G.E.D.

Two (2) years of experience in utility construction, plumbing, or related fields

Valid Kansas driver’s license

Must live within 40-minute response time of the City

Ability to lift 50–100 lbs. and perform physically demanding labor

Pay & Schedule:

Starting Pay: $23.99 – $25.19/hr ($49,899 – $52,395 annually, DOQ)

Additional $1.50/hour for shifts worked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (may include after-hours work)

Paid Time Off & Benefits:

48 hours vacation at hire; 96 total hours in first year

96 hours of sick leave during first year
