The Sourcing Specialist’s responsibilities include sourcing products and services at competitive prices and making decisions on which suppliers to work with on any given project. He/she/they will guide overseas suppliers through the production requirements to create custom-branded product for internal sales and merchandising opportunities and ensure product meets all branding and compliance requirements.
Develop new suppliers and monitor existing relationships over multiple product categories. Review 3 rd party factory audits as part of the overall decision process.
Educate overseas agents and suppliers about ASI industry knowledge, client expectations, product trends, safety requirements, and other necessary details as needed.
Obtain quotes from different suppliers – must be able to evaluate multiple quotes for the same product type and negotiate best costing and delivery schedules of like item between multiple suppliers.
Research and understand vendor capabilities, the supply market and market trends to determine contingency plans to mitigate risks on product and cost.
Research potential products to understand all components (i.e. materials, assembly, functions, etc.) to ensure correct products are sourced and produced.
Negotiate and follow payment terms with identified suppliers.
Have an understanding of the shipping processes required to deliver product on time and know how to calculate the anticipated freight costs as part of the quoting process.
Identify commodity codes and applicable duty rates as part of the quoting process.
Set up product SKUs and create purchase orders.

Capacity to offer superior customer experiences across multiple global entities.
A fast learner with interests in understanding different production processes and is someone capable of working with cross-functional teams and people from different backgrounds and cultures.
A strategic business sense, with mathematical aptitude, great written and verbal communication, salesmanship, sound judgement and attention to detail.
An ability to work a flexible schedule and travel domestically and internationally.
What’s needed - Basic Qualifications:
1+ years’ experience in customer service, sales, and project management.
What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:
Promotional products experience a plus. Experience with overseas sourcing within the ad specialty industry will be given top consideration.
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
