Job Title: Mechanical DrafterJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter with experience in the design of components and assemblies in an automotive and heavy-duty truck environment. The ideal candidate will enhance and troubleshoot design issues, provide technical support, and perform CAD design and drafting, developing drawings and related bills of material for fabrication and plant use. The role also involves performing FEA on critical design parts, developing and documenting assembly processes, and resolving customer concerns related to product and vehicle applications.Responsibilities
Enhance and troubleshoot design issues in products and production.
Provide technical support and resolve problems for manufacturing plant personnel.
Perform CAD design and drafting; develop drawings and related bills of material for fabrication and plant use.
Conduct FEA on critical design parts, components, and assemblies.
Develop and document assembly processes to capture parts data and research part attributes (part number, part description, part price, location, etc.).
Provide support to resolve customer concerns related to product, vehicle applications, and parts-related issues.
Follow Engineering Change Notice process to properly revise and document all necessary changes for future builds.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks for Design & Drafting.
Experience with AutoCAD.
Proficiency in MS Office.
3-5+ years of design experience in a manufacturing setting.
Knowledge of understanding materials and fasteners for assembly and analysis.
Familiarity with general vehicle parts, systems operations, relationships, and nomenclature.
Aptitude for detailed work.
Ability to research technical information related to item requests.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet assigned deadlines on short notice.
Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of basic electrical and hydraulics schematics.
Experience with PDM Vault Management.
Experience with DraftSight.
Experience with heavy-duty truck design.
ASE Certification.
Work EnvironmentThis position is located in a small shop with fewer than 50 employees, where team members wear many hats. The engineering group consists of only two people, providing exposure to various levels within the plant. The dress code is casual, with jeans and polo shirts acceptable. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, during daytime hours.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
