Wide River Winery’s LeClaire Tasting Room is looking for a reliable, responsible, and friendly full time Wine Host to lead the team. This successful wine tasting room has been open for 10 years and is a favorite stop for generous, happy visitors from around the world.
Position hours:
Wednesday or Sunday– 10:45am-6pm
Thursday – 10:45am-6pm
Friday – 10:45am-8pm
Saturday – 10:45am-8pm
Part Time Position Responsibilities:
Oversees sales, operations and facility functions of this tasting room for Wide River Winery. Hourly wage $13/hour + gratuities and party service charges. By being resourceful and taking initiative, goals include increasing wine, food and wine club sales, motivating and educating staff, and delivering a great customer experience with a clean, safe, inviting destination. Must be 18 years or older, maintain a valid Drivers License, and available to work on most Saturdays and Sundays. Ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in managing people.
Responsibilities:
Lead the welcoming of guests, tasting room sales, and ensure all opening, side work and closing duties on the checklist are addressed.
Regularly review and update checklist, review tasting sheets and menus weekly for accuracy – send corrections & additions to manager
Regularly train and communicate with fellow wine hosts about how to host a wine tasting, wine list, food menu, specials, selling tips and checklist duties
Regular feedback to Sales Manager about marketing and tasting room needs.
Be the Wide River Inn on site contact, welcoming guests, handing them keys, ensure they receive their complimentary bottle and their kitchen is stocked with coffee , filters and creamer.
Communicate with other locations’ lead wine hosts and order merchandise to be sold at all 3 tasting room locations.
Schedule regular cleaning for: slushy machine, ice machine, glass washer and HVAC filter.
Submit a supply inventory order form every Monday to kitchen manager in LeClaire for food and cleaning supplies.
Document cashiers log. Assess change needed for drawer for the week, communicate needs to Sales Manager.
Assess wine and supply inventory every Thursday, and send a request to delivery person for Friday deliveries.
Seasonal tasting room décor (natural whenever possible): fresh flowers, holiday greens
Promotion of seasonal wine and sales contests: Harvest Hurrah & winter seasonal wines
Lead, assist with planning and execute events: bridal showers, bachelorette parties, reservations, Wine Club Pick Up Parties, Fright Night Live Music, customer appreciation event and more.
