Business Unit ControllerPurpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Business Unit Controller to join our Live Pork team. This role is responsible for the Pork Live Operation business unit’s accounting and information technology functions. This includes working with regional location and corporate teams and business leadership to provide actionable information, increased efficiency, and process improvements.Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to multi-state Pork Live Operations Accounting and Information Technology teams.
Oversee and analyze weekly and monthly financial and operational reports.
Oversee production accounting, inventory management, and expense reporting.
Provide final review and analysis of month end close process.
Collaborate with management to provide accounting and financial analysis ad hoc reporting.
Complete and review SOX compliance accounting control processes for business unit.
Prepare business budget profitability rollup.
Prepare routine profitability forecasts.
Focus on improved processes, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
5-10 years in an accounting role and 1-3 years in a management role required
Strong organizational skills and acute attention to details
Exceptional analytical skills, accuracy and attention to details, and good research skills
Ability to work as a member of and a leader of a team
Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel required
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and ask questions as needed
Passion for the industry and accounting
Experience in SAP and ERP Costing Systems is helpful
Excellent communication, computer, organizational and multi-tasking skills
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Thorough knowledge of management accounting including variance analysis and root cause analysis
Strong critical thinking skills, analysis and decision-making skills.
Cost accounting experience preferred
Live animal operational accounting or meat experience helpful
Experience with M-tech ERP System
Experience managing managers
Experience managing off-site employees
Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Base salary range of $130,000-$150,000 ; and
Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
