Job Title: Laboratory TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Analytical Services Laboratory Technician to perform routine testing on various samples in our Analytical Services laboratory. The technician will provide analytical data for process control, quality control, process development, product development, and waste management. This role involves preparing and analyzing samples using a range of physical and chemical techniques and sophisticated analytical equipment.Responsibilities
Perform routine testing on samples using advanced analytical equipment.
Prepare and analyze samples using pH meters, densitometers, dissolved oxygen meters, conductivity meters, calorimeters, viscometers, rheometers, spectrophotometers, auto-titrators, IC, ICP, laser particle size analyzers, GC, HPLC, titrators, autoclaves, pipettors, platers, incubators, and ovens.
Conduct various microbiological tests, including spore counts and contamination assessments.
Operate and understand STAR LiMS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Waters Empower laboratory data acquisition system, and other instrument-specific computer systems.
Search databases for test methods, specifications, and standards to complete analyses.
Record, calculate, and report analytical results promptly and accurately.
Maintain appropriate records to meet internal and external regulatory requirements.
Complete daily instrument calibrations and inspections.
Observe good safety and housekeeping practices and may serve as Safety Officer for the shift.
Maintain laboratory supplies, prepare solutions, clean glassware, and dispose of solid/liquid waste.
Train others on waste management.
Review analytical data and LIMS reports.
Communicate and discuss any issues with team members and supervision.
Lead general housekeeping, orderliness, and cleanliness of the lab.
Order lab supplies and maintain sufficient inventory.
Receive and label incoming samples and reagents.
Prepare buffers and ensure quality control compliance.
Essential Skills
Experience with HPLC, gas chromatography, and other laboratory techniques.
High attention to detail and ability to analyze outcomes against a standard.
Ability to diagnose typical instrument problems with minimal assistance and provide support to others.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Strong understanding of chemistry and laboratory practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma with 4-6 years of lab experience or a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
Familiarity with GMP and quality control procedures.
Experience with laboratory data acquisition systems and LIMS.
Work EnvironmentThis position is for the night shift, from 10:30pm to 6:30am. The work environment involves handling sophisticated analytical equipment and performing a variety of tests in a laboratory setting.
