Ergonomic SpecialistDivision/Department: PorkLocation: MarshalltownJob title: Ergonomic SpecialistReports to: Brad ComstockLevel :Type of position:Full-timeShiftVariableGeneral Description:
Monitor employees who are in the Conservative Treatment Protocol, including the effectiveness of treatment modalities, restricted work activity, & ergonomic interventions.
Perform ergonomic job analysis, including task analysis, risk factor identification & quantification, & body mechanics analysis.
Use innovation, creative solutions & employee empowerment to design and/or implement ergonomic interventions such as job rotation, exercise programs, & training & education.
Consult with the Industrial Engineer on crewing needs & the utilization of Ergo Ease.
Monitor the effectiveness of the Industrial Athlete Program & suggest improvements as necessary.
Through investigation, aid in the determination of causality for alleged occupational illnesses & injuries.
Aid the Medical Case Manager as necessary.
Develop and maintain Physical Demand Assessments for all production positions.
Perform data analysis to measure direct and indirect cost of musculoskeletal disorders & trend identification.
On a daily basis, monitor employees who are in conservative treatment or return to work to include the treatment modalities, restricted work activity, and ergonomic interventions.
Perform other duties as assigned within the Safety and Health Department.
Required skills:
Strong Oral communication skills
Bilingual preferable
Microsoft Office
Meat Manufacturing Experience- preferred
Education Requirements (if applicable)
Bachelor of Science, Athletic Trainer Certified preferred
