Job DescriptionThe Department of Administrative Services – Human Resources Enterprise (DAS-HRE) provides centralized human resources programs and services to State of Iowa agencies. The mission of DAS-HRE is to support state agencies in their delivery of services to the people of Iowa by providing programs that recruit, develop, and retain a diverse and qualified workforce, and to administer responsible employee benefits programs for the members and their beneficiaries.The Human Capital Management (HCM) team is searching for someone to assist with configuration and testing of the Absence, Time Tracking, HCM, Learning and Compensation modules in Workday. This is a great opportunity to have an impact on nearly 18,000 users across the State of Iowa.The Workday Configuration Specialist will:

Understand and analyze the end-to-end behavior in the Workday system.

Analyze, recommend, and implement highly complex data problems and use understanding of current configuration.

Handle problems and non-routine situations by interpreting the administrative rules, policies, and procedures, and determining the approach or action to take.

Provide Security access to users.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Previous configuration experience. Workday experience strongly preferred.

Strong customer service skills.

Able to work independently, be resourceful and action oriented.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualification RequirementsApplicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree and experience equal to four years of full-time work in one or more professional-level human resources management areas such as employment, recruitment, position classification, compensation, labor relations, collective bargaining, safety, worker's compensation, wellness, and benefits administration.

A combination of a total of eight years of education and full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience.

Graduation from an accredited law school.

Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three and a half years of full-time work as a Human Resources Professional 1.
