What You'll Be Doing: As a Utility Analyst 2, you will be at the forefront of regulatory work by researching and analyzing filings, testimony, data, and exhibits from utility companies spanning natural gas, electric, water, renewable energy, and telecommunications. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Evaluating Rates: Dive into the world of utilities by reviewing, examining, and evaluating cost studies and operational practices. Your insights will be instrumental in recommending acceptance or suspension of rates and rate supplements. Ensuring Compliance:Become the watchdog for compliance, assessing utility companies' adherence to agency filing requirements. Your eagle-eyed approach will be vital in reviewing applications for rate increases and ensuring alignment with regulatory standards. Data Analysis:Apply your financial acumen to analyze economic, financial, and other data related to public utility regulation. Your skills will be crucial in deciphering complex information to make informed recommendations. Collaboration:Engage with officials of public utilities, private industry, and the public. Your ability to build relationships will be pivotal in addressing matters related to public utility regulation.
