Job DescriptionJoin Our Mission at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) (https://iowaagriculture.gov/) ABOUT US: At IDALS, we're dedicated to stewarding our land, protecting our waterways, and ensuring a better future for all Iowans. The Choose Iowa Program (https://www.chooseiowa.com/) is growing and searching for a Membership and Outreach Coordinator to be part of a dynamic team making a real impact. Both Iowans living on the farm and those in our towns and cities are impacted almost daily by the work of the Department.POSITION SUMMARYThis position is contract-covered and part of collective bargaining. It reports to the Choose Iowa Program Director and works closely with the Communications and Accounting Teams in support of the mission of the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. This is a Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week position with occasional weekends or evenings and is located in Des Moines at the Henry A. Wallace Building.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Membership recruitment and retention coordination:

Coordinate new member recruitment campaigns.

Identify and research member invitation opportunities.

Review and approve new membership applications and profiles.

Assemble and distribute new member welcome packets.

Member onboarding including membership application completion and profile setup and maintenance.

Develop and maintain membership toolkit resources.

Maintain membership records including recruitment invitations and renewals and coordinate the membership renewal process through exemplary customer service.

Outreach and event coordination:

Coordinate exhibits and displays for commodity group tradeshows and annual meetings including registration, planning, setup and staffing.

Support Iowa State Fair exhibit and presentation planning and coordination.

Assist with special projects including Choose Iowa Passport program development and implementation including member account setup. Monitor and track Passport utilization.

Support Choose Iowa hosted outreach event planning, development and coordination including member trainings, Choose Iowa Day at the Capitol, Choose Iowa Statewide Farm Store Crawl, a statewide Choose Iowa Farm Open House.

Maintain member events details on the Choose Iowa website.

Support Choose Iowa social media content creation, communications and accounts.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Proficient with Canva, social media account management, and campaign development and implementation.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities to use logic and deductive and inductive reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Iowa driver’s license.
