Technician I

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The position of a Technician will include duties as applicable, but not limited to the following; all applicable duties of a Sampler; maintaining representative samples; keeping detailed and legible work records; the ability to identify unusual conditions;  and the proper use of equipment and procedures in accordance with the United States Department of Agriculture standards and Mid-Iowa Grain Inspections SOP's.In addition, as applicable, must be able to oversee and identify proper and improper sampling process and procedures. Other duties may be required at location management discretion. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESAt all times complies with Mid-Iowa Grain Inspection Code of Integrity and Professional ConductPerform all sampling functions as outlined in the sampler's job description Ensuring duties are carried out in compliance with USDA/FGIS protocols and standards while taking into consideration customer safety and sampling site requirementsProduce official recordsBe required to pass all applicable exams to perform necessary functionsWhere applicable: be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly, sit or stand for long periods of time; work at elevated heights; perform repetitive tasks, and be capable of working in dusty environmentsWhere applicable: able to start 1st shift as early as 5:00 a.m., with 2nd shift starting as late as posted hours; on call, as needed position; Monday-Friday core hours; with weekend hours when applicableDirect reports include: Location manager, and/or inspector-in-charge, where applicableLocation Management will provide study materials and adequate trainingMay require some travel to different locations within the company
