Accounts Payable Specialist

Due to a recent promotion, Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our accounting team as an Accounts Payable Specialist in Clarion, IA.  The primary purpose of this position is to perform the accounts payable duties. This position performs moderately complex clerical accounting duties involving routine and non-routine calculations and analysis, reconciliations, verifications, and postings while ensuring accuracy and validity in the accounting process. Guidance is available when needed.Analyzes and processes documents after examining for completeness and accuracy.Must obtain a thorough understanding of A/P System.Perform assigned duties accurately and in a timely manner.Research incorrect information received, determines the proper accounting treatment, and recommends corrections to the transaction originator.Enters data into various accounting records including, but not limited to, the general ledger system, accounts payable system, accounts payable and/or consigned inventory accounts.Communicates with others within the department to exchange information and to answer questions   or resolve issues.Assists other co-workers with related tasks as necessary.Reconciles various accounts, including identification of discrepancies and corrective action.
