Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Tax Preparer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role is heavily involved in the financial industry, with a focus on corporate tax compliance, federal income tax return, and fiduciary income tax return. The workplace is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring a high degree of organization and detail-orientation.Responsibilities: Provide overall support to products through various communication channels such as phone, email, and chat to ensure a positive customer experience. Use technical expertise to assist with product navigation, compatibility, usability, and general product knowledge. Take ownership of customer communication by working directly with specific customers to resolve their inquiries. Utilize multiple system applications and resources provided for quick issue resolution. Handle customer chats efficiently and professionally. Contribute to the knowledge database by recommending responses and sending them to the lead for review/creation. Foster collaboration and promote teamwork within the department. Maintain a professional and positive image internally and externally. Troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries by utilizing defined processes and procedures. Perform other job duties as defined to meet key performance indicators. Requirements Proficiency in Corporate Tax Compliance Experience in preparing Corporate Tax Returns Ability to handle Federal Income Tax Returns Experience with Fiduciary Income Tax Returns Familiarity with Federal Tax Returns Experience in a Call Center environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficient in using tax preparation software and tools Familiarity with tax laws and regulations Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is an advantage Prior experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
