As an Outside Sales Consultant, you’ll blend technical expertise, sales acumen, and customer service to deliver high-quality fireplace and chimney solutions. You’ll perform inspections, provide estimates, and help customers transform their living spaces and preserve their home value. This role requires someone who isn’t afraid of heights or getting their hands dirty but also has the professionalism and finesse to close a sale and foster long-term customer relationships. Key Responsibilities Inspect fireplaces, chimneys, and venting systems, including climbing ladders, navigating roofs, and entering tight spaces. Conduct professional in-home sales presentations, asking for the sale to achieve one-call closes when appropriate. Provide accurate estimates and recommend products and services tailored to each homeowner’s needs. Follow a proven no-pressure sales methodology to deliver results while ensuring client satisfaction. Maintain and develop strong client relationships through follow-ups and exceptional service Collaborate with office staff and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution. Stay current with industry trends, maintain at least one professional certification within three months of hire, and participate in ongoing training and workshops. Manage contact lists and utilize a custom CRM to track client interactions and pipeline progress. Submit detailed daily activity reports and meet sales targets consistently. What We’re Looking For Experience: Sales background preferred, ideally with 2+ years of in-home or outside sales. Technical Aptitude: An interest in technical problem-solving and the ability to understand and communicate solutions effectively. Sales Skills: Ability to ask for the sale confidently, handle multiple follow-ups, and close deals professionally. Mindset: Self-starter, goal-driven, and coachable, with a commitment to personal growth and professional success. Hunting through networking, canvassing, referrals, and social media is encouraged though not required. Customer Focus: Outstanding interpersonal skills to develop rapport, patience to handle challenging calls, and motivation to serve clients’ needs. Physical Requirements: Comfortable with heights, navigating roofs, and physically enduring hands-on inspections. Other Essentials: Valid driver’s license, ability to work independently, and willingness to collaborate with team members.
