POSITION: Maintenance Technician – MRF / Polymer Processing Facility
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repair on complex stationary equipment used in a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) or Polymer Processing plant. This includes conveyors, shredders, balers, compactors, sort lines, optical sorters, grinders, granulators, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fixed industrial equipment such as:
Conveyor systems
Shredders and grinders
Sorting lines and optical sorting equipment
Balers and compactors
Air compressors and dust collection systems
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Perform basic electrical work including sensors, motor controls, and low-voltage troubleshooting.
Conduct welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed.
Identify root causes of malfunctions and proactively prevent future issues.
Follow all OSHA, company, and environmental safety standards.
Participate in equipment upgrades, installations, and relocations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shop and work areas.
Support emergency response efforts in the event of equipment failure or breakdowns.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic understanding of maintenance standards and best practices.
Prior experience with stationary equipment in an industrial or manufacturing setting preferred.
Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems strongly desired.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Electrical troubleshooting skills (PLC knowledge is a bonus).
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Valid Driver’s License.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance experience or graduation from an accredited technical school with focus on industrial systems, mechanical, or electrical maintenance.
Ability to perform inspections and repairs under limited supervision in one or more of the following areas:
Conveyor and processing systems
Electrical and control systems
Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
Material handling systems

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

10 hour shift
12 hour shift
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Experience:
Industrial maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
