Job SummaryThe Solutions Architect will work as a managed services expert supporting account teams, customers, and go-to-market initiatives. The Solutions Architect will take a consultative approach and lead discussions with clients regarding managed services requirements, will understand how technology enables business and recognize data center opportunities for the company.This position is a remote position however may be required to report to the Austin, TX location as required for business needs as determined by SHI management.About UsSince 1989, SHI International Corp. has helped organizations change the world through technology. ResponsibilitiesInclude but are not limited to:

Lead both independent as well as collaborative discussions with clients regarding data center requirements

Acquire and develop advanced technical and programmatic skill sets by attending company training, acquiring certifications and self-study

Understand OEM and industry landscape relative to solutions and market trends in order to provide continued solution expertise for team and customers

Support the development of go-to-market strategies across all solutions by providing project engineering, marketing assistance, customer conversations and industry expertise

Educate and develop sales teams on data center/cloud solution selling and key technologies with company and partner offered training

Develop and maintain internal intellectual property: a combination of white papers, subject matter guides

Understand and assess customer requirements, objectives, and current environments to recommend improvements and develop relevant solutions

Understand and support SHI cloud services offerings and portfolio by working closely with the internal services department

Recommend cloud solutions based on industry trends and knowledge of client environments

Maintain familiarity of one or more formalized architecture methodologies or standards such AWS Reference Architecture, Azure Architecture, NIST, CSA, OCC, and the like by obtaining certifications, partner training, self-study and participating in company development program

Design an appropriate cloud solution based on customer requirements

Collaborate with sales team to cultivate client relationships

Collaborate with other solution architects and engineers in support of sales, customer, and go-to-market activities

Provide technical support to the pre-sales teams for services and product support

Conduct self-study and independent work in lab facilities to increase hands on job-related skill

Recommend CLOUD solutions based on industry trends and knowledge of client environments

Obtain technical certifications as needed for specific projects as dictated by management

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience working with design and delivery/implementation of cloud/hybrid solutions or operational IT/cloud experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Proficient with Microsoft Office products Word, PowerPoint and Visio

Experience presenting to customers, internal teams, or local professional groups

Knowledge of full scope of technical cloud solutions including application architecture, automation/orchestration, integration, hybrid cloud, hyperconverged, virtualization, and data management/protection

Valid driver’s license

Must be able to pass client-required background checks as needed

Ability to demonstrate technical capabilities of cloud technology

Independent with an entrepreneurial spirit

Excellent presentation skills

Ability to work effectively within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally

Ability to work both individually and in a team environment

Receptive listening skills, with ability to present ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences

Excellent troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose the problem

Ability to obtain technical certifications regularly

Excellent writing skills to produce written reports of recommendations, metrics, project management, process and technical documentation

High level reading comprehension to examine manuals and technical reports to keep up with advances and implement new technology that meets employers’ or clients’ needs

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Performance of one or more gap assessments for formalized industry frameworks and compliance requirements preferred but not required

One or more of the following industry/cloud certifications: AWS, Microsoft, Google or equivalent preferred but not required

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience preferred but not required

Technical writing

Experience across a diverse set of data center technology solutions

SOW creation and delivery

RFP response experience

Consulting project delivery

Unique Requirements

Position requires up to 40% travel to client locations

Extended hours are required to complete some special projects

Additional Information

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $100,000 – $200,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
