Whether you are an established professional in the transportation field or just starting your career, INDOT has exciting and challenging opportunities for you.  Role Overview: The ADA Permit Administrative Assistant is a Seasonal State Worker at the Greenfield District which will primarily help with our ADA and permit programs. This position will assist the ADA Program Coordinator with field inspections and office work related to sidewalks, curb ramps, and other ADA assets on State Highways. They will also assist with our permit group with billboard inspections and other permit related assignments. When in the office, this position may work at the front desk assisting visitors in the Technical Services Building. Steel toe boots are required for all field work. Salary: This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $16.24 an hour. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience. Location: This position is located in INDOT’s Greenfileld District. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows:

Accompany District personnel onto State Highways to assist with measurements and documentation of sidewalks, curb ramps, and other ADA assets.

Upload documentation and linework for field work in statewide GIS.

Assist permit group with billboard inspections and other permit related activities on State Highways.

Assist visitors to the Technical Services building while performing these assignments.

Experience in the construction and/or maintenance of highways is not required but may be considered in position

What You'll Need for Success: You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

High School graduate or equivalent;

Ability to gather, collate and classify information about data, people or things; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; write letters, papers and reports; handle sensitive inquiries and contacts with general public;

Considerable computer skills with Microsoft Office Software required;

Ability to maintain confidentiality;

Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.

Ability to follow directions, complete tasks in a timely manner, and work as part of a team.

Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana:

This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period
