6-month+ contract Keller Schroeder, an information technology firm in Evansville, IN is seeking a Mainframe COBOL Engineer to assist our direct client located in Evansville, IN. This is a 6-month contract with possible renewals every 6 months. Client has the option to offer full time employment after 6 months.

Sponsorship is available if offered employment.

This is a hybrid work arrangement with remote and onsite work in Evansville, IN. This position will be in a fast-paced environment working with batch and real-time systems and coordinating changes with other IT development teams.

Responsibilities:

Document and gather business, functional or technical requirements.
Create, develop and code from technical specifications.
Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain zSeries (Mainframe) COBOL applications.
Participate in code reviews.
May assist with training of other developers.
Participate in on-call rotation to support system applications.

Requirements:

6 – 9 years’ experience in z/OS COBOL development
MVS
JCL
VSAM
DB2
ChangeMan, Endeavor, or similar source code management system
Able to work remote and onsite in Evansville, IN
