The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care in accordance with the care plan developed for each individual patient and within the physician’s orders. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for providing services, as directed by contract and/or program, while under the supervision of a contract/program clinical designee. The RN provides service in accordance with Maxim’s philosophy, standards and policies.Patient Cares:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assesses and evaluates patient nursing needs regularly
Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or services provided to client(s) receiving contracted services, as required
Initiates the plan of care when directed and requests from prescriber any necessary revisions as patient status and needs change
Incorporates therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on patient diagnosis and established goals
Intervenes as applicable in response to changes in patient/client condition and reports such changes to appropriate physician or supervisor
Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, as well as, monitors and documents effectiveness of intervention
Assures patient/client safety at all times
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the care/services environment and equipment used, including universal precautions
Reviews plan of care and program protocols and identifies areas for healthcare teaching/education, care coordination, goal setting and discharge planning needs, as applicable
Documents all physician collaboration/coordination of care in the medical record and communicates this information as needed

Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
Minimum Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in specific state required
Complies with accepted professional standards and practice
One year prior professional nursing experience preferred
Current CPR, as applicable, for direct patient care
PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Successful completion of Maxim Orientation and Compliance training, and all other assigned trainings as applicable required
Successful completion of Maxim’s Competency Program
Proficiency in the English language required
Current Health Certificate (per facility contract or state regulation) required
Must meet all federal, state, local and contract requirements
