Job DescriptionThe Production Lead position oversees the work of a group of employees within a department/area while performing many of the same work duties as that group. Oversee the work to ensure that it is proceeding on schedule and meeting established quality standards.As the Production Lead, you will have an opportunity to:
Receive departmental work assignments from Dept. Manager.
Planning work and supervising staff.
Must know all tasks associated with helmet production.
Coordinate all aspects of line change-overs.
Monitor material requirements and complete requisitions using bill of materials.
Responsible for production line in the absence of department supervisor.
Keep accurate daily production records.
Comply with employee backup and training for all assembly positions.
Must be able to use weight scale for accurate counting.
Supervise over approximately 20 employees.
Counsel employees on job performance and conduct.
Assist in establishing and assigning work priorities within the department/area.
Train department work group in required safe and correct work procedures and performance expectations following work instructions and operating procedures.
Inspect, coordinate and record work performed by the department/area.
Assist in resolving on-the-job technical questions/ issues.
Order necessary supplies, tools, etc. for the department/area.
Refer all job discipline and non-routine issues to the Dept. Manager.
Maintain machinery/equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and schedules.
Operate and use all equipment following standard work instructions and operating procedures.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and EBS Code of Conduct.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Attend line-lead meetings.
You have:
Four to six (4-6) years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
High School diploma or GED required.
Proficient using MS Office applications.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively relate with others, delegate work assignments and cooperate as a team member.
Ability to organize and coordinate work efficiently, to set priorities, and to motivate others.
Strong teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, as well as determination, loyalty, poise, and confidence.
Manual dexterity required for operating equipment/machinery and tools.
Good math and problem solving abilities.
Ability to rely on judgment for personal safety regarding work.
Ability to put forth considerable mental and visual effort.
Ability to perform essential functions and responsibilities of the job with minimal supervision.
Flexibility with work schedule and task changes, and work overtime daily and Saturdays as needed.
Careful attention to detail.
Observe all safety rules and regulations; exercises care and good judgement at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
Work autonomously and maintain productivity and quality standards.
Be reliable and have good work attendance history.
Positive attitude with a work ethic of the highest degree.
Report all incidents/accidents/injuries immediately to Human Resources Safety Specialist.
Follow 5S rules for workstation and other common areas in the facility.
Maintain safe and clean work environment with mindful thoughts and actions in housekeeping habits (i.e. picking-up paper, debris, etc in work area, aisles, and common employee areas as you move through the facility); Properly collect and disposes of waste following established guidelines.
While performing the duties of this job, you are required to:
Regularly stand, sit, walk, climb stairs and work at heights from floor to 30 feet high
Frequently lift and shift boxes weighing up to 30 lbs with a maximum of 65 lbs throughout a full shift of work
Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, hands and legs. Moving of whole body to lift, reach, grasp, balance and stoop when handling warehouse materials for an extended period of time and or an entire work shift
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
