We are a business looking for representation on an Illinois wage claim case. We have some answers due soon. We already have a very good answer for the motion due soon. New counsel could ask for additional time. The next deadline in January is to file a answer for a MSJ. We have an answer for that. We expect the case to settle because we are suing the same party, a former employee, in a Federal Trademark case. We will be filing our own MSJ soon in that case.
We have two separate needs.
1) Representation for the lead co-defendant. A company.
2) Representation for the other co-defendants,. two individuals and another company - very little to do for this defendants. Nothing was provided in discovery because there was nothing to provide.
The case is not complicated at this stage, we don't mind a qualified attorney with a little less experience at this point. I think I would be able to represent the company Pro Se, for now except that it is not allowed for corporate defendants in Illinois. We have to file and appearance, request an extension. Do that myself, I would hire another more experience lawyer closer to the date of filing the MSJ over the final filing. I already know someone in another state who can work in Illinois state court.
