DescriptionOur client, company in the Oil & Gas Services industry located in the Willowbrook, Illinois area,, is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for a short-term temporary project. The Senior Financial Analyst consultant will manage financial issues which includes project spending, planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting. You will also perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments supporting public reporting requirements, and provide decision-making support for future company investments.Your responsibilities-Collaborate with the Functional leads to provide management reporting, accounting and compliance guidance plus ensure alignment of operational initiatives
Develop sustainable business, operational, and financial processes understood by all necessary teams
Identify and execute financial analysis to optimize business performance
Manage existing management reporting - analyze financial results, distill and synthesize issues, communicate key messages to senior management
Assist in ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests
Influence the accuracy and discretion of tracked financial results with Operations and Accounting in order to drive improved management reporting
Build positive relationships with key business partners and Finance/Accounting leadership
Analyze financial results, distill/synthesize key trends, assess current and future business risks, and communicate critical updates to senior leadership all in the course of preparing monthly and quarterly management reports
Requirements
Financial auditing experience desired
Proven knowledge of US GAAP
General familiarity with SOX
Variance analysis experience highly desired
Thorough understanding of financial analysis
Foundational knowledge in month end closings
Experience with account analysis
Knowledgeable grasp of SAP FICO - Financial Acctg - Controlling
Highly-accomplished in office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended
Applicants need 10+ years experience in operations finance
CPA or MBA preferred
Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint
Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively
Finance or Business BA/BS degree or one in a related field required
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Prior experience with process reengineering and optimization
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Able to think critically and interact with management
Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally, with a practical and solution-oriented approach
